Please contact Diane Pedulla ([email protected]) for more information about this pet.
34 lb. 5-year old female Spaniel mix

Marilyn arrived from Puerto Rico with a torn ACL needing immediate surgery. Her surgery was incredibly successful, and she is already starting to put weight on her injured leg. But, she now needs physical therapy to keep her moving in the right direction. Donate here to help Marilyn live a pain-free life.

Marilyn needs an adopter who can help her through her remaining PT -- and then she should have an active, normal life!

MARILYN NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Marilyn   Best Guess for Breed: Spaniel mix

Best Guess for Age: 5 years    SEX: female

Approximate Weight: 34 lbs.

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living at DC area foster home

Someone out there is looking for an adult dog who knows a thing or two. A dog who has seen enough of life that nothing phases her anymore and doesn't come with a long list of demands. A dog who wants only to find a home where she can live forever with people who will love her and treasure her companionship. If you are that person then we have found your match and her name is Marilyn.

Marilyn is a sweet, medium size Spaniel mix with a tan coat, feathery black ears and a plume of a tail. This girl will definitely turn heads in your neighborhood! At 5 she is long past the bouncy puppy and rambunctious adolescent stages. Marilyn is a lady but not a diva. She knows everything in the world does not revolve around her. Just give her love, care, and some space of her own where she can settle in and not have to worry about what the future holds in store.

Spaniels are known for their stamina having originally been bred as sporting dogs. We don't know just what type of Spaniel Marilyn is or what other dog(s) she is mixed with but in general the breed is loving, energetic, and friendly towards both people and other dogs.

Marilyn will need daily exercise to keep her happy and healthy. I n addition to daily walks you should plan on some opportunities for Marilyn to run off-leash, such as at a fenced-in dog park or doggie daycare. Obedience training is the way to go with any new dog and Marilyn will appreciate you making the effort to learn how best to communicate with her.

Like most shelter dogs, Marilyn may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained. Marilyn gets along well with other dogs but has not yet been tested with cats or kids.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Diane at [email protected]!
